This year tranzsend is celebrating 125 years of New Zealand Baptist involvement in global mission through the New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society. During this year we are telling the stories of our messengers - God’s messengers, making the good news known.
There are currently, and have been in the past, many other New Zealand Baptists working in overseas mission outside of tranzsend. Commission Matters is one place where their stories can be shared.
Over the next couple of years I’d like to focus these stories around the main geographical regions of the world. We’ll start closest to home in Australasia and Oceania (May) and move through the Americas during the rest of 2010; starting in the South (July), to Central (September) and finishing the year in North America (November). In 2011 we’ll cross the Bering Strait into Europe (March), visit Asia in May, travel through the Middle East and North Africa (July) and conclude in Africa (September). In November we’ll feature those whose work is not confined to a particular geographical location – in the air, on the sea or across borders.
So, I am inviting you – pastors, mission convenors, mission agencies, and other interested people - to submit stories for the appropriate months. As a rough guide, copy needs to be to me by the middle of the month prior to the month of publication, as outlined above. The stories for the May Baptist, the stories of our people working in Australasia and Oceania, need to be received by April 14th. If you’d like to facilitate the telling of the stories of the people who are important to you please get in touch with me or encourage them to make direct contact with me.
Grace and peace,
Bev
